Reviews can be submitted in various areas on Edelweiss.
One option is locating a title in one of your homepage widgets, clicking in to view its details, and selecting the Review icon:
Reviews can also be submitted from within a catalog, on the Review Copies page, or while viewing another title list as shown below:
On your Review Copies page, there are areas for “Downloaded” and “Downloaded, Not Reviewed” titles. Note that all titles you have opened in Edelweiss Reader will also show up on this list.
Select “Downloaded, Not Reviewed” to see the titles you have downloaded but have yet to review.
Clicking Review will bring up a screen where you can rate various attributes of a title, write a review, and decide who can see it.
Note, you can select which attributes you’d like to rate (or not) by selecting More Ratings and choosing a rating between 1 and 10 for each attribute.
You can decide to send the review to the publisher (and/or share with your friends and colleagues), and, under Nominate, choose whether you’d like to submit to IndieNext, Libro.FM, etc.
Giving a title an 8 or higher automatically gives it a “Much Love” rating, which adds it to the total Much Love count seen for each title:
The number indicates that 45 Edelweiss users gave this title Much Love. Click that number to see who those folks are, and how they break down according to user-type (bookseller, librarian, blogger, etc.)
Note that clicking the Much Love heart (🖤) icon automatically assigns a review rating of 9 to that title.
Publishers have the opportunity, on their side, to Feature reviews that they especially appreciate. Featured Reviews can be found as shown below. Again, just click to see those reviews.
Your Review Copies page will also show titles that you’ve downloaded but have not yet reviewed:
Keep track of all your reviews on the Reviews page.
