Sales Reps – Catalog View

Here’s a quick tour of a catalog on Edelweiss:

Catalogs load in their entirety in Edelweiss, but you’ll see 50 titles at a time. Page turns happen quickly. This also means that, since all the titles are there and immediately available, sorting, filtering, and jumping to titles happens instantly. You can open a drawer of filtering options via the Filter button at the top of the catalog:

Sorting options for your page view can also be found at the top:

A title listing in a catalog is initially basic, listing key bibliographic data as well as information on the number of reviews and average rating for the title (the orange numeric badges on the title itself). Click on the title’s average rating (left) and number of reviews (right) to explore the reviews!

To dive into a title, you have the option of expanding content, comps, etc. Display desired elements of content by clicking on the triangle icons beside each content type:

The content will open, accordion-style, beneath the title listing. You can use the Preferences button at the top of the catalog to set these sections to be automatically visible (or not!):

For those of us who might not see small print as well as we used to, you can click this eyeglass icon to pull up a screen in which you can make the text as large as you might need:

Enlarge a book cover by clicking on it.

On the left-hand sidebar of a title listing, you’ll also see a number of tools available to you, such as Tags, Add to, Note, and Review:A variety of useful actions are nestled under Add to, such as adding to your Shelves or a Collection. Additional actions, such as exporting to a file or copying/sharing the title link, are available via the …Actions button:

Clicking the name of the title will give you the option to view the title in Presentation Mode, which will show all available information for that one single title. Click the arrows to navigate forward and backward between other titles in the catalog.

To exit the title detail page, simply click the ‘X’ icon or anywhere outside of that particular window.

For those times in which you may want to browse through a catalog or list of titles a little more quickly, you have the option of a Two Column View:

The Two-Column View is much more simplified and streamlined to help you fly through a list of titles. You’ll need to do your markups and such in Full View.
