Following is a brief explanation of the various pages in Edelweiss, which amounts to a very quick tour of the many tools available on the site!
Home: The homepage is where you start in Edelweiss. Each time you log in, you’ll be taken care. Your homepage is fully customizable by adding or removing various widgets—details here. Note, the display order of these pages may differ in your view, depending on how you’ve customized your dashboard.
Catalogs: Here, you can find all catalogs. You’ll find those your publishing house has added to Edelweiss, catalogs you’ve placed on your Worklist, catalogs you’ve bookmarked, your Collections, and more.
Buzz: The Buzz page will show you titles that have been getting attention in Edelweiss, either from your Friends in the Edelweiss community, your colleagues, etc. “Attention” in this case consists of Review and Shelf Activity on the site. By selecting My Account Activity you can see the titles your colleagues are excited about. By ‘making friends’ with your colleagues, reps, and booksellers, librarians, or bloggers, you’ll be able to see which titles your friends have been reading and loving. This is a great way to get a heads-up about titles from your accounts and the market at large.
Review Copies: This page will show all available digital review copies (DRCs) on Edelweiss in a filterable, sortable list. Track your own requests and downloads, as well as open or processed requests from Edelweiss users, if your publishing house uses the Review Copy Module. Note the ability to adjust your time frame for each view as well.
Shelves: This page will help you keep track of any titles you’ve added to your Shelves.
Tags: Here, you’ll find all of your Tags (both Personal Tags & Markup Tags) and the associated tagged titles.
Orders: The Orders page will show any orders that your accounts have shared with you, as well as any orders you’ve created on their behalf. You’ll see Active or Completed orders, depending on your selected filter. You can also filter the list of orders either by Account or by the person who created the order. On this page, you can click on an order to view it and access what is essentially a visual purchase order, showing just the titles on the order, but in the interactive catalog-style view you’re used to. You can also open the Export Preview screen, which is where you’ll see the order in a downloadable format. Details here!
Take special note that your accounts must share their orders with you so you can see them. For them to do this, you’ll simply need to add them to your Contacts! Details on adding contacts can be found here.
People: On the People page, you can find your individual contacts and accounts, as well as any Edelweiss friends, your colleagues, etc., along with their Shelf and Review activity.
Event Grids: Event Grids are proposed author tours, which publishers can share with bookstores. Publishers (you) have complete control of access to your Event Grids. Full instructions on using Event Grids on Edelweiss can be found here.
Reviews: The Reviews page will allow you to keep track of any reviews you’ve submitted, as well as those submitted by your friends and colleagues. More importantly, you can see reviews submitted by your accounts.
Analytics: For Edelweiss Analytics subscribing publishers, this tab will be available if you’ve been granted Analytics privileges by a user administrator in your publishing house’s Edelweiss account.
