Edelweiss Community for Publishers

Edelweiss Community is a mobile-friendly social networking platform for book lovers. Here, users can join unique Communities, or groups of readers with similar interests. Members of a Community can collaborate on lists of titles, communicate with one another, and share their reviews and collections.

It is easy to open Edelweiss Community from any page in Edelweiss by clicking on the Edelweiss Community (snowflake) icon on the upper left corner of your screen:

Your Community homepage gives you a snapshot of all the activity taking place across your different communities. To join a Community, navigate to the Communities lane on the left-hand side:

Here, you will see all of the Communities to which you belong as well as those available to join. Join by simply clicking on the “arrow” icon:

Collaborative Title Lists

Once you’ve joined a Community, you’ll be able to work together with other users on Collaborative Lists:

Collaborative lists allow Community members to nominate titles in certain topic / subject areas and provide feedback on other member suggestions, upvoting their favorites and downvoting others.  To view a collaborative list, just click on it!

At the top of the list, you’ll see a description of its topic, a summary of list activity, and the jacket covers of each nominated book. Below that, you’ll see the books ranked from highest to lowest, depending on the number of Community member votes.

Share your opinion! Click the up arrow to upvote or the down arrow to downvote.

Do you think a title is missing from these lists? Click Add Title(s) and then search for the title or add the ISBN. Make sure your “View Mode” is set to Interactive. You can even add multiple titles at once by adding a list of ISBNs!

Community Conversations

You can also have conversations with other users in Communities.  You can find the Community’s conversations on the upper left-hand side of the Community Hub:

Simply click on a conversation to view it.  If you’d like to add a thought to an existing conversation, click “New Thought” and, if you’d like to reply to someone else, click “Reply.” And, if you’d like, click “Start New” to begin a new conversation:

As a publisher, you can also auto-approve entire Communities for DRC access. Instructions on this here.
